The KINEF oil refinery in Russia was the victim of a drone attack on the night of March 8. This was reported by the governor of the Leningrad region, Alexander Drozdenko. KINEF is the only oil refinery in the Northwestern Federal District of Russia in the Leningrad region.
'The drone attack on KINEF in the Kirishsky district has been repelled. One drone was shot down during the approach, the other was destroyed over the plant's territory,' Drozdenko reported.
The consequence of the attack is damage to the external structure of one of the tanks.
KINEF is the largest oil refining plant in Russia that specializes in deep processing of oil and the production of oil products such as gasoline, diesel fuel, and fuel oil. The plant is key to the fuel and energy complex of Russia.
It was previously reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are striking at the energy infrastructure of Russia in three regions.
