Changes for Ukrainian refugees in Germany: what is known from the new coalition agreement.

Ukrainian diplomats have reported that the agreement on the formation of the future government of the FRG is a strong support for Ukraine. However, the agreement does not contain details regarding the continuation of support for Ukrainians in the FRG.
Ukraine's ambassador to Germany Oleksiy Makeyev noted that the agreement is very strong and has many elements that were discussed with the political parties of the coalition.
However, the agreement does not specify how payments to Ukrainian asylum seekers in Germany will be conducted. This issue remains unresolved.
The ambassador expressed hope for the enhancement of the integration process of Ukrainians in Germany and their voluntary return to their homeland.
The presidential agreement, which awaits approval from all political forces, provides for the abolition of the unemployment benefit system. This directly concerns Ukrainian asylum seekers who receive payments alongside German citizens.
The agreement also stipulates that refugees who arrive after 2025 and have legal residence as asylum seekers will also receive benefits if necessary. However, it will be important to prove the need for benefits.
All this means reduced material support for Ukrainian war refugees.
