Drivers Will Be Penalized with Fines: Ukraine Introduces Penalties for Greedy Carriers.

A bill No. 13331 has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, which provides for administrative responsibility for refusing free rides for privileged categories of citizens. This document aims to protect the rights of more than 4 million Ukrainians to free travel, including pensioners, war veterans, people with disabilities, and other socially vulnerable groups of the population.
According to the proposals of the bill, carriers violating the rights of privileged riders will face fines ranging from 1700 to 3400 hryvnias. This amount corresponds to 100 to 200 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens and will apply to all types of carriers, regardless of ownership.
Strengthening Responsibility for All Carriers
New sanctions will apply to all carriers operating on public transport routes, including municipal enterprises and private companies. The initiators of the bill emphasize the necessity to protect the rights of passengers, for whom free travel is extremely important.
Strengthening administrative responsibility is aimed at forcing carriers to comply with the legislation and respect the rights of all categories of passengers. After the bill is considered in the session hall, with the support of a majority of deputies, the new fines may be implemented soon.
The Ukrainian Parliament registers a bill that provides for penalties for carriers who restrict the right to free travel for privileged passengers. The law aims to protect socially vulnerable groups of the population and improve transportation conditions for them.Read also
