Military photographer, author of the film 'Two Days in Ilovaisk'. Remembering Ruslan Hanushchak.


Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians honor the memory of all who died in the Russo-Ukrainian war. Today we will remember Ruslan Hanushchak.
Ruslan Hanushchak, a military photographer and operator, a fighter of the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade named after the Cossack ataman Ivan Sirk, known as Ostap, died in the war in Ukraine. This information was posted on the Facebook page of the spokesperson for the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support, Natalia Kotskovych. She mentioned that they worked together in the 'Azov' press service in the past.
Ruslan Hanushchak began his work as a war operator in 2014 when he served in the 'Azov' battalion. He became known as a war documentarian in Donbas, documenting the crimes of the Russian military in various settlements. His works were shown in the USA, Britain, and other countries around the world. In 2022, Hanushchak joined the 92nd Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and continued documenting the war.
War journalist Andriy Tsaplienko shared his memories of Ruslan Hanushchak. He noted that they met when Hanushchak was serving in 'Azov'. Tsaplienko recounted that they worked together documenting the crimes of the Russian military and telling the story of the war. He described Hanushchak as a talented, good-hearted, bright person filled with a desire to change the world for the better.
Tsaplienko recalled that together with Hanushchak, they were hit by rockets, but thanks to Hanushchak's actions, they all survived. He also praised the creativity and talent of Hanushchak, who always tried to understand what was happening and show the people who hold Ukraine.
Ruslan Hanushchak is survived by his wife and daughter.
