Ukrainian refugees will again receive employment assistance in Latvia.


Latvia provides assistance to Ukrainians at the beginning of employment
The Latvian government has allocated nearly 1 million euros for the State Employment Agency (NVA) to pay a one-Time aid to 1,330 Ukrainian civilians who are looking for work or planning self-employment. This information was provided by the Ministry of Welfare.
The total budget for 2025 is almost 2 million euros, and the funds will be available for Ukrainians from March 7th and October 3rd respectively. The one-time assistance will be paid only once, and the NVA will consider the relevant application data.
To receive the assistance, the application must be submitted within one month from the date of the start of employment.
The amount of assistance is equal to one minimum monthly wage in the country (740 euros) and is tax-free.
Currently, 17,180 Ukrainians have already received assistance in job search, and 637 individuals have started self-employment. Latvian law provides support to Ukrainian civilians from state budget funds.
