The press service of the Pension Fund of Ukraine explained to its compatriots whether they will receive sick leave during the probation period.
One of the Ukrainian women, who was on probation at her new job, was hospitalized after a heart attack. She was curious whether she would be paid sick leave in this case.
'I got a job, and during the probation period, I had a heart attack and ended up in the hospital. Will I be paid sick leave?'
The Pension Fund reported that according to Ukrainian legislation, employees have the right to receive sick leave during the probation period. The law 'On Mandatory State Social Insurance' stipulates that all employees are entitled to insurance benefits in case of temporary incapacity for work, including during the probation period.
Thus, if an employee falls ill or gets injured during the probation period, the employer must pay the sick leave on equal terms with permanent employees.
