Ukraine may be present as an observer at the 23rd session of the Assembly of States Parties to the International Criminal Court. However, it will only be able to fully participate in the Assembly's work after January 1, 2025, when it becomes a state party, said ICC spokesperson Fadi el-Abdallah in a comment to Ukrinform in The Hague.
According to him, Ukraine has already ratified the Rome Statute, but its effectiveness will only begin 60 days after the ratification document is submitted to the UN Secretary-General. Thus, from January 1, 2025, Ukraine will become a full state party to the Rome Statute of the ICC and will have all the necessary rights, including the right to participate in elections and propose amendments.
