How many Russian tank battalions have the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed since the beginning of the year: data from the Ministry of Defense.

Since the beginning of 2024, the Defense Forces of Ukraine have destroyed and hit 3,179 tanks of the Russian army. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense.
It is noted that a tank battalion consists of 31 tanks. So, in 10 months of 2024, Ukrainian defenders have put out of action approximately 102 tank battalions of the occupiers.
A kind of “tanker's day” for the Russians this year was May 12. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, our units hit 31 enemy tanks in a single day. Thus, within one day, the Russian army lost an entire tank battalion destroyed and disabled.”, the message says.
The Ministry of Defense notes that such losses could cost the Russian budget at least $9 billion: “This is an approximate amount based on calculations at average world prices for this type of weaponry.”
For example, 9 billion US dollars is approximately equivalent to 16 annual budgets of the city of Chelyabinsk, which has the worst environmental situation in Russia. At the same Time, instead of solving internal social problems, the leadership of the aggressor country continues to pour huge sums into the war.
Let us remind you that the current support for Ukraine is small compared to what it would cost Germany if Russia wins in a predatory war against Ukraine. This is written by Tagesschau, citing the November analysis of the Institute for the World Economy in Kiel (IfW).
