According to Google Trends, Russians suddenly began looking for information about the negotiations between Ukraine and Russia taking place in Istanbul. Queries about 'Istanbul' also show an increased interest in 'Putin's negotiations', 'Istanbul negotiations', and 'news about the negotiations'. There has also been a sudden rise in interest in the name 'Nadia Savchenko'.
Nadia's sister denied the widespread information about her death, calling it a lie and Kremlin propaganda. 'Nadia is and will always be! Stop spreading lies, ungrateful people!' - she stated.
Moreover, Russian media have received recommendations from the Kremlin on how to cover the negotiations in Istanbul. It is emphasized that it is important to focus attention on the leader of the Russian delegation, Vladimir Medinsky, as well as to prepare Russians for a possible negative outcome.
Vladimir Medinsky is ready for negotiations with the Ukrainian side
The Russian delegation is expecting the Ukrainian side at the meeting on Friday, May 16 - stated Medinsky. Meanwhile, Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed Putin's absence from the negotiations in Turkey.
According to the latest reports, the Ukrainian delegation at the negotiations with the Russian side will be headed by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. The main goal of the discussions is to achieve progress in resolving the conflict and ending the war.
