Christmas and New Year Shopping of Ukrainians: Trends at the End of 2024.

Christmas and New Year holidays are an important part of Ukrainians' lives. Many of them do not plan to give up festive shopping even in times of war. According to Deloitte, 65% of respondents will start their Christmas and New Year shopping between December 1 and 24, which is a positive trend. Compared to last year, this figure has increased by 6%. New Year's expenses prevail over Christmas expenses - this was decided by 45% of respondents. Most citizens plan to spend from 1,000 to 5,000 UAH to celebrate the New Year. Additionally, 7 out of 10 respondents plan to allocate part of their Christmas and New Year budget for charitable aid, in particular, to support defenders on the front line. Furthermore, it turned out that 23% of respondents are ready to use Artificial Intelligence during festive shopping to get ideas for gifts and discounts. Ukrainian consumers also demonstrate rationality in shopping, in particular, are willing to wait for the delivery of goods from abroad if their price on a foreign website is 20% cheaper. More than half of shoppers during the festive shopping add extra items to their online cart to receive free shipping. It was also found that 41% of respondents intend to purchase goods from Ukrainian brands and suppliers. Finally, 56% of Ukrainians prefer a seller who offers the option to pay for goods in installments with no additional interest.
