Despite the traumatic experience of Russian invasions, Orban and Fico choose Putin - Media.

Populist far-right parties are already part of the government in countries like Italy, Hungary, and Slovakia. They are also represented in the ruling coalitions of the Netherlands, Croatia, and Sweden. Now these parties have a chance to replace centrist elites in France, Germany, and Austria.
However, populists have faced a shift in their internal unity, which may become their weak point. Some of them, including the 'Brothers of Italy' party in Italy, support NATO and opposition to Russian aggression against Ukraine. But many populists show support for the Russian dictator and try to justify his crimes. This allegiance to Putin's regime is being exploited by Kremlin agents.
Some populists from Hungary support Russia due to energy dependence, while others admire how Putin treats his critics. The authoritarian Prime Minister of Slovakia is also mentioned, having met with Putin to discuss cooperation in the gas sector with Russia.
The most concerning position is that of the nationalist 'Alternative for Germany' party, which ranks second in support in polls ahead of elections in Germany. This party is already calling to cease military support for Ukraine and resume Russian gas supplies. It also includes figures with anti-American sentiments who are inclined towards reconciliation with Moscow.
