ARMA sold the amber portrait of Viktor Medvedchuk at auction
The National Agency of Ukraine for Detection, Investigation and Management of Assets Obtained from Corruption and Other Crimes (ARMA) sold at auction the amber portrait of Viktor Medvedchuk, created in the 2000s. This portrait was made at the state enterprise 'Amber' in Rivne. After the auction, the winner was Elite Sevastyanova, who paid 6 thousand UAH for this artwork.
However, Elite Sevastyanova stated that she bought not the amber portrait of Medvedchuk, but the painting 'Three Bears'. The newspaper 'Glavkom' discovered on the ProZorro.Sales platform a painting that can be described as 'Teddy Bears in a Pine Forest' from the collection of Medvedchuk-Marchenko. Nevertheless, ARMA attempted to sell this painting twice, but the price was not accepted at the auctions. Therefore, there is currently no documentary evidence to support Elite Sevastyanova's claims.
In addition to the amber portrait, ARMA also sold other assets that previously belonged to the Medvedchuk-Marchenko family. In particular, this included 20 luxury watches (over 7 million UAH), 90 paintings (902 thousand UAH), a Maybach car (1.8 million UAH), two ATVs and buggies worth over 1 million UAH. Among the most valuable sold watches were Patek Philippe for 1.27 million UAH and Breguet for 1.11 million UAH.
Overall, ARMA has already sold 70 paintings from Medvedchuk's collection, including the amber portrait of Medvedchuk himself. Also, in October, the last watch from the seized collection of Medvedchuk was sold for 285 thousand UAH.
