The Ukrainian city of Glukhiv was targeted by the Russian army on November 18. The enemies used drones to attack a dormitory. This terrible tragedy, which happened due to Russian violence, took the lives of 12 people, including the famous poetess Lydia Roditeleva-Protsik. This was reported by the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine.
Lydia was born in the village of Pustogorod in the Sumy region and, from an early age, was captivated by the beauty of nature, which she recreated in her poems. She actively participated in the literary life of her community.

This autumn, Lydia moved from Pustogorod to Glukhiv, seeking refuge from the shelling of her home by Russian forces. She tried to find a safe haven, but her life was cut short due to the enemy invasion.
'Lydia had a creative evening planned at the library, but now we will never hear her voice. But we will always remember her. Lydia Protsik's poems will always resonate at literary events in our library,' said the head of the Glukhiv Public Library Tamara Privalova.
Roditeleva-Protsik's works were often published in local newspapers and almanacs, and her poems inspired local composer Maria Voropay to create songs.
