The Ukrainian Football Association is working on a new format for the Ukrainian Cup for the 2025/26 season. This format includes a number of innovations that make the tournament more interesting and competitive.
The semi-final matches of the Ukrainian Cup for the 2024/25 season will take place on April 23. 'Bukovyna' will play against 'Dynamo', and 'Polissia' will face 'Shakhtar'.
The first stage of the new format for the Ukrainian Cup for the 2025/26 season will be conducted by the winners of regional cups. In the 1/32 finals, 12 UPL clubs will compete, and in the 1/16 finals, another four UPL clubs participating in European competitions will join the battle.
The innovations for the Ukrainian Cup 2025/26 also include holding all matches at the grounds of teams from lower divisions, using a blind draw, and abolishing extra Time, as a draw will be resolved by a penalty shootout.
On April 3, the draw for the 1/2 finals of the Ukrainian Cup for the 2024/2025 season took place with the participation of the head coach of the Ukraine U-20 national team, Dmytro Mykhailenko, and sports journalist Volodymyr Zverov. The pairs for the 1/2 finals are 'Bukovyna' (Chernivtsi) against 'Dynamo' (Kyiv) and 'Polissia' (Zhytomyr) against 'Shakhtar' (Donetsk).
The final match of the Ukrainian Cup for the 2024/2025 season is scheduled for May 14 at the Central Stadium in Zhytomyr.
