Negotiations between the foreign ministers of China and Denmark
The Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, held talks in Beijing with Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen, who is on a visit to China.
According to the Chinese foreign ministry, Wang Yi stated that Denmark was one of the first Western countries to recognize the new China and establish diplomatic relations with it. The parties decided to deepen practical cooperation in the fields of trade, scientific innovation, and the 'green' economy.
The Chinese minister emphasized that the foundation of stable development of bilateral relations over the past 75 years has been adherence to the principle of equality between large and small states, as well as mutual respect for key interests.
Danish Foreign Minister Rasmussen confirmed his country's commitment to the 'one China' policy and interest in deepening cooperation in the investment sphere and 'green' transition. The parties also discussed international and regional issues, including the crisis in Ukraine.
During the negotiations, opportunities for expanding trade relations between the countries were discussed, as well as cooperation in the field of scientific research and innovation. Denmark advocates free trade and against conducting trade wars, while China expressed readiness to increase openness to foreign investment.
