G7 condemned Russia's nuclear blackmail and promised $50 billion in aid to Ukraine.
G7 Ministers support Ukraine and condemn Russia
The foreign ministers of the G7 countries firmly condemned Russia's nuclear rhetoric and expressed their support for Ukraine. In a joint statement issued after the meeting in Florence, Italy, the G7 leaders expressed serious concerns regarding Russia's use of medium-range ballistic missiles, calling this action a dangerous manifestation of the conflict. They also discussed the threat of military cooperation between Russia and North Korea, which poses a threat to security in Europe and the Indo-Pacific region.
Particular attention was paid to the cooperation between China and Russia. The G7 countries urged China to take appropriate steps regarding this issue. A plan was also announced to allocate $50 billion from frozen Russian assets by the end of the year.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga also participated in the meeting and emphasized the need to strengthen air defense, provide ammunition, and the importance of deterring military cooperation between Russia, Iran, and North Korea.
