Vodafone, lifecell and Kyivstar subscribers were shown how to remove the 'E' symbol from the smartphone screen.

Kyivstar, Vodafone and lifecell clients were explained the reasons for the appearance of the 'E' symbol on smartphone screens and ways to resolve connectivity issues.
According to gsminfo, the 'E' symbol indicates that the device has switched to EDGE technology, which is an intermediate standard between 2G and 3G and allows for speeds of up to 384 kbps. This speed may be sufficient for messaging but inadequate for video streaming.
The main reasons for the appearance of the 'E' symbol include being out of range of modern communication standards, power outages when operators reduce the load on base stations, and being in areas with poor signal, such as basements, elevators, dense forests, and mountains. In cities, this situation can arise due to a large concentration of users from the same operator.
Experts recommend several ways to improve connectivity:
- Restarting mobile internet using flight mode for 10-15 seconds
- Changing the network type to '3G/2G (auto)' in phone settings
- Manually selecting the operator in SIM card settings
If a user has persistent connectivity issues in a specific location, experts recommend checking the coverage quality of other operators before switching providers. It is important to understand that the 'E' symbol does not necessarily indicate a device malfunction but may be related to the peculiarities of communication infrastructure or temporary technical difficulties.
